bjj is a great sport for kids to get into. it is a great way for kids to burn energy, become more athletic, build confidence and have great self defense. like other martial arts, bjj instills discipline. most kids have fun learning bjj, and it is arguably the best single form of self defense, out of all martial arts. bjj also allows practitioners to train without striking, so rest assure if you are a protective parent. ground game is a firm believer that training safe is training smart, and in the long run, it is more beneficial. also, if your child or children are interested in competing, bjj competitions may be challenging, but they can be a lot of fun. tacoma and the surrounding areas usually hold local bjj tournaments, and there are also opportunities to compete at a higher scale (worlds/ibjjf), if interested.

Tang Soo Do (Hangul: 당수도, pronounced [taŋsʰudo]) is a Korean martial art incorporating fighting principles from subak (as described in the Kwon Bup Chong Do), as well as northern Chinese kung fu. The techniques of what is commonly known as Tang Soo Do combine elements of shotokan karate, subak, taekkyon, and kung fu.
